La Verne, CA- (July 28, 2018) A daily dose of baking soda is being heralded as a practice that just may benefit every health seeker who desires to live free of chronic inflammation.

Aging is characterized by chronic low-grade inflammation throughout the body.  Medical investigators have demonstrated the body’s immune system over-responds by sending legions of white blood cells called macrophages to the site of infection, malignancy or trauma.  It’s kind of like an auto accident at Fifth and Main Street where 50,000 police cars show up rather just a squad car or two.

A highly inflammatory type of macrophage (M1) is necessary to kill off pathogenic bacteria, viruses and parasites, but left unchecked these M1 macrophages cause more problems than the original triggering event.  M2 macrophages calm the immune response and work like fire extinguishers to douse the flames of inflammation.

How do adults plagued by inflammation in their joints, kidneys, pancreas, eyes, brain, liver and other organs and tissues balance M1 with M2 macrophages?

The answer is baking soda.  Just two grams (a half teaspoon) of baking soda in a half glass of water was demonstrated to quell inflammation and balance M1 with M2 macrophages via reinstatement of anti-inflammatory signals that emanate from the spleen, an organ that recycles red blood cells and controls the immune response.   A nerve chemical called acetylcholine that is dispatched from the spleen is reinvigorated with the use of bicarbonate of soda to quell inflammation throughout the body.

The report of this breakthrough was published in a recent edition of the Journal of Immunology.

Lifespan Nutrition offers 1000-milligram capsules of sodium bicarbonate for those individuals who prefer the convenience of capsules.  The serving size is two 1000 mg capsules (2000 mg total) per day with a half glass of water on am empty stomach.  The baking soda capsules are very economical.  To learn more go to or call 1 800 247-5731
